DB’s directive to Finance Secy on old age home

JAMMU, June 7: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Viklang Chattra Trust seeking better care of old age home, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today granted four weeks time to Finance Secretary to comply with the earlier orders.
“Earlier, this court had directed the Secretary, Finance Department to examine the DPR submitted by the Social Welfare Department and grant approval within a period of three weeks. Thereafter, on 25.05.2017, the matter was adjourned in view of the fact that Vishal Bharti, Deputy AG had suffered bereavement in the family”, the DB observed.
“Today, Government Advocate Tarun Sharma appearing for the Secretary, Finance Department once again prays for adjournment. By way of last indulgence, four weeks further time is granted to the Secretary, Finance Department to comply with the order dated 03.05.2017″, the DB said, adding “in case of further non-compliance this court shall be constrained to pass appropriate orders against the officer”.
