JAMMU, Mar 28: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sindhu Sharma today sought detailed status report regarding withdrawal of security cover provided to separatists.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Waheed Choudhary for the PIL filed by Advocate Deewakar Sharma whereas Deputy AG Raman Sharma for the State, the DB observed, “Deputy AG has submitted that certain orders have been passed regarding withdrawal of security”, adding “four weeks time is granted for filing detailed status report on all the issues which are the subject matter of consideration in the present petition”.
In the PIL, it has been submitted that whatever may be the policy of the Government with regard to dealing with the militants and separatists, it cannot be a policy of using the money of the common man for providing benefits to the separatists and preachers of militancy and their agents, who are challenging the accession of the State to the Union.
“Respondents are involved in inciting large scale violence in Kashmir valley which has resulted into death of thousands of people and members of security forces. Despite efforts made by the State to contain their illegal criminal and subversive activities they are still continuing with their nefarious designs of making statements and taking action against the nation”, the PIL said.
