JAMMU, Oct 27: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding regulation of traffic in Jammu by ensuring proper coordination between concerned agencies, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice B S Walia today directed Divisional Commissioner, IG Traffic, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and Regional Transport Officer to remain present before the court on November 10 to explain the steps to be taken by them for implementation of the recommendations made by a High Powered Committee.
After hearing Senior Advocate DC Raina with Advocate Anil Verma appearing for the PIL whereas Senior AAG SS Nanda appearing for the State, DB observed, “in terms of order dated 29.06.2016, the respondents have filed the status report and the same is taken on record”.
“The status report is a concept for regularization of traffic in Jammu city as such Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, Inspector General (Traffic) Jammu and Regional Transport Officer Jammu are directed to remain present before this court on 10.11.2016 to apprise the court with regard to the steps which would be taken by them for implementation of the recommendations made by the High Power Committee”, the DB said, adding “the respondents shall also submit the Action Taken Report in view of the plan which has been prepared by them”.
