JAMMU, Apr 15: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Viklang Chattra Trust seeking better care of old age homes, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharma today granted three weeks time to the Social Welfare Department for filing response.
After hearing Advocate Sumit Nayyar for the PIL, DB directed Social Welfare Department to file response within three weeks in terms of earlier order whereby court had sought details as to whether all the beneficiaries who have submitted applications for grant of benefits and those who have already registered are being given benefits under those schemes or not and whether paucity of funds is acting as hindrance.
