JAMMU, Dec 12: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today disposed of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking justice with the trans-genders.
After hearing Advocate DS Chouhan appearing for the PIL whereas Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, DB disposed of PIL with the observation: “The State has made the policy as per the directions of Supreme Court”.
Earlier, Senior AAG Gagan Basotra placed on record a copy of the State Policy for Transgenders modeled keeping in view the directions issued by Supreme Court in various judgments including the judgment rendered in the case of National Legal Services Authority Versus Union of India.
