DB directs Revenue Secy to file ATR or appear in person

JAMMU, Mar 28: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice BS Walia took serious note of the non-filing of the Action Taken Report by the Commissioner/ Secretary Revenue in Chatha-Sunjwan land scam.
After hearing Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocate Suraj Singh for the petitioner Prof SK Bhalla whereas Senior AAG SS Nanda and Seema Shkehar appearing for the State and Senior Advocate LK Sharma for SRK Associates and Senior Advocate MA Goni with Advocate Rahul Pant for newly impleaded Revenue officals, the DB directed the Secretary Revenue to file Action Taken Report within two weeks failing which he shall appear in person on the next date of hearing.
Division Bench also directed Senior AAG Seema Shekhar to file the updated status of the verification being carried out by the Crime Branch Jammu on the reference being made by General Administration Department regarding encroachment of Government Land at Chatha- Sunjwan Jammu.
