DB directs JKSLSA Secy to file report

JAMMU, Mar 5: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Shivan Mahajan seeking steps to check child abuse, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sindhu Sharma has directed the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority (JKSLSA) to file status report.
After hearing Advocate Parimoksh Seth for the PIL, the DB directed that the status report on behalf of the State shall be filed in the Registry with an advance copy to the counsel for the petitioner who may examine the same and make submissions on the next date of hearing.
“Member-Secretary, J&K State Legal Services Authority has not filed the report in terms of our last order dated 6th February, 2019 with regard to the programme which was to be undertaken in the districts of the State for educating the children regarding sexual violence, culpability of young offenders as also issues relating to the cyber offence”, the DB observed and directed that the report shall be filed positively before the next date of hearing.
