DB directs Div Com, PCCF to file status report, appear before it

Alleged construction of complex on forest land

JAMMU, July 24: In a petition seeking registration of FIR against ex-BJP Minister Abdul Gani Kohli and others for construction of educational complex on the forest land at Nowabad Sunjwan, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjay Dhar has directed the Divisional Commissioner and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest to file status report and appear before it on next date of hearing.
After hearing Advocate Ankur Sharma for the petition, the DB observed, “pursuant to our order dated February 20, 2020, a status report dated July 14, 2020 has been filed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education. However, no report has been filed by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the Revenue Department”.
Accordingly, DB directed the Divisional Commissioner as well as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to file compliance report within four weeks from today. They were also directed to remain present before the court virtually on the next date of hearing.
