JAMMU, July 14: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by practicing Advocates seeking direction for incorporating a system of e-filing in urgent matters, computerization of case filing center, making status of fresh files for defect available online, increasing number of employees at filing counter and making a comprehensive website for subordinate courts, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice BS Walia today directed Central Project Coordinator (e-courts), High Court to file an updated status report within a period of three weeks.
The direction was passed by DB after going through the status report filed by the Central Project Coordinator (e-Courts). The counsel for the petitioners submitted that even now in respect of the six districts of which mention has been made in the project report prepared by the CPC, the data is not available on the National Judicial Data Grid.
It was further submitted that there was no mention of e-filing in the report submitted by the Central Project Coordinator and the data as well as judgments are not being uploaded on the website of the High Court.
