DB directive on setting up of railway counter

JAMMU, Nov 21: In a contempt petition in Public Interest Litigation regarding setting up of railway counter at J&K High Court at par with other High Courts, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Bader Durrez Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today directed the Registrar Judicial to submit a report.
After hearing Advocate BR Manhas, who is petitioner also, DB observed, “counsel appearing on behalf of the Railway Board states that sanction has already been granted for setting up separate reservation counters in the High Court premises at Jammu and Srinagar. A communication has already been addressed to the High Court for providing the space so that the counters can be set up”.
Upon this, Division Bench directed Registrar Judicial to submit a report with regard to the progress in the matter and also made it clear that the reservation counters to be set up in the High Court premises at Jammu and Srinagar shall be of the same kind as set up in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
