One killed, five injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Nov 21: An old man was killed while five others were injured today in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, an old man identified as Madan Lal (62) son of Gian Chand, resident of Arnia, sustained serious injuries today at about 6 PM when a scooty on which he was travelling, was hit by a rashly driven tractor at Kool Morh in Arnia area.
The blood-ridden injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
Another mishap occurred this afternoon at Paloura Chowk near Girls Higher Secondary School, where a load carrier driven in a negligent manner turned turtle. In the mishap, five persons travelling in the load carrier got injured, one of them seriously and they were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
The seriously injured persons was identified as Phool Chand (42) son of Ayodhya Prasad of UP (at present residing in Janipur) while others were Ajay Sharma (22) son of Dewan Chand of Kishtwar (at present Roop Nagar), Om Parkash (18) son of Ram Parsad of UP (at present Janipur), Surjeet Kumar (23) son of Bal Krishan of Kishtwar (at present Roop Nagar) and Ranjeet (23) son of Roshan Lal of Kishtwar (at present Roop Nagar).
In both the cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
