SRINAGAR, Aug 5: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and District Administration Pulwama today observed the “Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption” as a part of the Vigilance Awareness initiative of J&K Government.
During the event, employees from the Anti Corruption Bureau, JKEDI and District Administration actively participated and shared their experiences. They vowed to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and strive to become role models in promoting integrity and accountability within their respective spheres of influence.
Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (Director, JKEDI) in his address stressed that the Government of J&K has been steadfast in its pursuit of creating a corruption-free governing system through various initiatives, policies, and reforms. He said Government’s initiatives like Public Services Guarantee Act, digitization of records and e-services among other initiatives are a step further for a corruption free society.
Abdul Waheed Shah, Senior Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), ACB, gave a detailed and compelling presentation during the event, shedding light on the pivotal role of the ACB in combating corruption and ensuring accountability. With profound knowledge and expertise, he elucidated the various laws, rules, and procedures that empower the ACB to investigate and prosecute corrupt practices effectively.
The event was attended by Manzoor Ahmad Bhat (Executive Director JKEDI), Dr Fayaz Ahmad Banday (Additional DC Pulwama), Zaffar Hussain Shawl (Additional DC Awantipora), Chief Prosecuting Officer (Headquarters) ACB, officers from ACB South Kashmir and other officials of JKEDI.
