Darakhshan meets Tourism Minister, seeks spl package

NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and Chairperson of Central Waqf Development Committee, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi had a meeting with Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi.
Dr Darakhshan discussed many issues related to the Tourism sector with the minister. She apprised the minister of the huge loss to the Tourism sector in Union Territory of J&K during the past six months as a result of the situation in J&K.
She told the minister that this set-back to the Tourism sector has badly affected the livelihood of lakhs of people associated with the industry. Dr Andrabi requested Tourism Minister to devise special incentives and packages for the Tourism sector in J&K so that the huge loss is compensated to some extent.
Union Minister assured Dr Andrabi that Central Government is taking some concrete multi-pronged measures to strengthen and boost the Tourism sector in J&K in the coming months.
Dr Darakhshan also presented her vision for revival of the ailing cultural organisations of the Union Territory. She told the minister that a cultural renaissance was the need of the time in J&K so that the real spirit of the land is promoted.
Prahlad Singh Patel told Dr Andrabi that the ministry is preparing a comprehensive plan to promote the real cultural treasure of J&K and all ailing systems will soon be flourishing there.
