NEW DELHI, May 22: Continuing with its strong run in China, Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ has earned over Rs 725-crore in the country and is now nearing the Rs 1500-crore mark worldwide, trade sources said today.
Trade sources said that ‘Dangal’ , continuing with its good performance in China, collected approximately $11.65-million (Rs 73-crore) yesterday.
The film’s total collections in China now stands at $112.5- million ( Rs 726.32-crore).
With the addition of its China collections, Dangal now stands with a total worldwide business of Rs 1470.66-crore.
The film is all set to cross the Rs 1,500-crore mark soon at the box office. It will become the 2nd Indian film after ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ to achieve this feat.
Expressing happiness over the film’s performance in China, the actor said, “I suppose people have loved the film. These kind of films do not have any language or cultural barriers. These are human stories which connect to everybody, irrespective of their language or region. So this is the beauty of creative things? that they do not have any national or political boundaries.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is produced under the banners of UTV Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions.
The film also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar and Sakshi Tanwar in key roles. (AGENCIES)
