Daksha featured in Natrang’s National Theatre Talk Show

JAMMU, June 22: Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Awardee, National School of Drama Repertory artist, theatre actor, director and costume designer, Daksha Upadhyay featured today at Natrang’s National Theatre Talk Show-Young Voices of Theatre’ at Facebook page of Natrang Jammu.
A native of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Daksha is active in theatre for the last 20 years. Daksha has also been awarded ‘Junior Fellowship’ in Folk Theatre by the Ministry of Culture, GoI in the year 2014. She has been also active in children’s theatre for the last 10 years.
After completing diploma in acting from Himachal Cultural Research Forum Mandi, she worked as an actress with Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts Delhi and National School of Drama Repertory Company.
In conversation with Natrang’s Anil Tickoo, she narrated her eventful journey of theatre which started through a children workshop in her early childhood. She also recalled many memorable experiences of doing theatre at different places including at Jammu. She believes that theatre plays a vital role in developing the overall personalities of children and also appreciated that it has got the requisite space under the New Education Policy.
