DAK holds free medical camp

Srinagar, May 5: On the occasion of Mehraj-u-Alam, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Hussaini Welfare Society today held a day long free medical camp at Hazratbal Shrine.
A DAK spokesman said a team of specialist doctors led by its president, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan attended to hundreds of devotees who visited the camp for various ailments. “Majority of patients were having respiratory tract infections and in most of the cases poor hygiene and sanitation was the cause,” he said.
Free medicines were distributed among patients besides they were asked to maintain personal and community hygiene in day to day life as it is a major precaution against infectious diseases, the spokesman said.
“It is for the information of general public that the camp will continue for tomorrow also and people should take benefits from medical experts in the camp,” he added.
