DADAA delegation calls on Jugal, demands Duggar Channel

JAMMU, Oct 22: A delegation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) called on Member Parliament and president State BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma here today and apprised him of their long pending demands.
The delegation, which was led by president of DADAA, J S Babli demanded establishing of Satellite Duggar Channel and also handed over a memorandum to him regarding the demands addressed to Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Defense Ministry, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Janak Khajuria one of the members of the delegation said that DADAA is demanding Satellite Duggar Channel with sole aim to promote, protect and develop the rich cultural heritage and languages spoken in the Duggar land. He also said more than one crore Dogri speaking population stretched in between Mirpur, Bimber, Bag, Siyalkot and Shakargarh in Pakistan, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Hoshiyarpur in Punjab, Chamba, Kangra, Palampur, Kullu and Manali in Himachal Pradesh and they will be linked by the channel to their moorings.
Delegation also apprised the member of Parliament that Jammu is a suitable place being near the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) to propagate and promote the prospective policies of Government of India in regard to Kashmir tangle to convince the masses living across the border effectively and counter the false propaganda against the State as well as our country by Pakistan.
The delegation informed the MP that about ten thousand artists, producers, technicians and spots are totally dependent of DD and they are at the verge of starvation as till date the budget for Jammu has not been released.
It also demanded enhanced budged for DDK Jammu as the Station is also catering to displaced artists from Valley. It said the Prasar Bharti authorities have also approved the issue on the plea of DADAA but till date the formal orders were not issued.
Mr Sharma assured the delegation that he will take up the issue of Duggar Channel with the concerned authorities.
The delegation comprised of Dr Kamal Sharma, J S Babli, Madan Rangila, Sandeshvir, Harbans Sharma, Subash Jamwal, Rattan Doshi, Vijay Magotra, Uttam Singh and R Narang.
