Cyber Cell thwarts online fraud

JAMMU, May 13: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu District claimed today it has thwarted an online fraud.

A Cyber Cell spokesperson said that a complaint was received regarding a financial fraud of Rs 2, 05, 000.

As per the content of the complaint, he said, the victim joined a WhatsApp group for trading, where he invested and lost an amount of Rs 2, 05, 000.

On receiving the complaint, he further said that the Cyber Cell acted swiftly and put on hold an amount of Rs 1, 86, 164 out of the total amount.

Further investigation is on to recover the remaining amount, added the Cyber Cell official.
