JAMMU, Nov 24: Rajinder Singh Tara, Custodian General J&K while on visit to Kashmir Valley conducted extensive tour to Evacuee property assets/ land in Srinagar as well as South Kashmir.
The Custodian Evacuee Property Kashmir, Deputy Custodian HQ, Executive Engineer E.P Department J&K along with Field Staff accompanied the Custodian General J&K.
During the visit of Evacuee land situated at Balhama Srinagar where demarcation and identification of about 100 Kanals of Evacuee land is under way.
Tara applauded the efforts of Naib Tehsildar and Patwari Halqa concerned and Field staff of Evacuee Property Department Kashmir for demarcation/ identification and retrieval of 40 Kanals of Evacuee land as on date. The Custodian General J&K asked the Revenue staff present on the spot to complete the demarcation and retrieval of rest of the Evacuee land in question as soon as possible so that the steps are taken for Management and Preservation of Evacuee land and its optimum use.
During the visit Custodian General J&K to South Kashmir particularly various fruit bearing orchards and Evacuee land retrieved by the department recently at Pahalgam Anantnag, the orders were passed to the Custodian Kashmir to come up with the proposal for rejuvenation of orchards or otherwise, and proposal for utilization of Evacuee land measuring 05 Kanals at Pahalgam for its permissible use in consultation with Pahalgam Development Authority.
The Custodian General J&K also visited the site at Batingo Anantnag proposed for construction of office complex for housing of Deputy Custodian Evacuee Property Anantnag and was of the view that the site is also commercially viable and the possibility of its use for the purpose be also looked into and accordingly asked the Executive Engineer E.P Department to prepare building plan/necessary estimate for accord of Administrative Approval by the Competent Authority.
