SRINAGAR : Curfew continued for the fourth day today in parts of north Kashmir district of Bandipora, following death of youth in alleged police firing on pro freedom demonstrators on friday.
Security forces and State police personnel remained deployed in Bandipora, Hajin and Naidkhai, where stone pelting incidents were reported yesterday.
People alleged that they were not being allowed to move out of their houses by the security forces and State police personnel deployed in strength. “We are now facing acute shortage of essentials, particularly milk, bread and vegetables,” they said.
However, curfew restrictions continued as today was the fourth day fateha of Farhat. The Government has already ordered a magisterial probe into the killing of Farhat. However, the separatist organisations have rejected the probe and described it as another attempt to shield the guilty police personnel. (AGENCIES)
