JAMMU, Feb 18: Stressing the girl students to take part in cultural and sports activities along with their academics, Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), K. Vijaya Rajendra has said that such activities are must to shape their physical and intellectual development.
Mrs. Vijaya was inaugurating inter-school dance competition “Nirtyangana”, at Police Auditorium here this morning. Organised by PWWA, as a feature of Police Public Mela, the competition was participated by 77 girl students of 11 schools of Jammu.
Chairperson said that JK PWWA has been organising Police- Public Mela regularly in the twin capital cities of the State, besides other features thrust is also given to the amusement of children. She said that the competition was organised as a part of the Mela with the aim to provide platform to the budding student to excel.
Mrs.Vijaya disclosed that 77 students of different schools including Alexander Memorial School, Delhi Public School, JK Montessori School, RM Public School, Guru Harikrishan Public School, Stephen’s Public School, Banyan International School, JK Police-Public School, St. Peter’s School, May Fair Hr. Secondary School and Spring Dale Higher Secondary School participated in the competition.
Earlier, AIG (welfare) PHQ Dr. Haseeb Mughal informed that the winners of the competition for different positions would be awarded with cash prizes of Rs.10,000, Rs 7000, Rs 5000 & Rs 2500 on Mela day. He said that different activities are undertaken by police Parivar to hone the talent of the budding youth.
Among others the function was attended by all PWWA members, Dy. SP Madhu Bandral and principals of different schools.
