SRINAGAR, July 29: The Department of Convergent Journalism (DCJ), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has launched the first ever International Journal of Communication and Social Research (IJCSR) from Kashmir.
IJCSR is an independent international journal published from DCJ for all academicians and scholars of communication, media studies and social science.
“It is a biannual, peer-reviewed journal, having 15 senior most professors, from various academic backgrounds, in its editorial and advisory board, and some of them based internationally. IJCSR aims at publishing original, cutting-edge manuscripts of academic scholarship related to communication, social science and their multi-disciplinary approaches,” said Shahnaz Bashir, coordinator of DCJ.
Since there is dearth of quality interdisciplinary communication studies’ journals from South Asia, the journal encourages critical, constructive research in the world with a special focus on the third world, the coordinator said.
“IJCSR is established as a means to disseminate findings of media academics and social scientists to, in turn, stimulate further research in communication, media and social science, and integrate various fields of understanding around them,” Shahnaz said.
The Journal has also called for submission of papers from academics and scholars. A detailed notice regarding this can be found on the website of the Central University of Kashmir.
