JAMMU, May 15: The Centre for Molecular Biology, Central University of Jammu has been recommended by Department of Biotechnology, Union Ministry of Science and Technology, for starting the MSc programme in Biotechnology under the aegis of Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima.
It is pertinent to mention that the Post-Graduation programme in Biotechnology will be financially supported by DBT India for infrastructure and admission of students shall be made at national level. The endeavor is to develop a centre of advance studies in Biotechnology and to spread its knowledge and skills among young learners.
The proposal for starting the PG teaching programme was prepared under the guidance of Prof Mushtaq Ahmed, Director, Centre for Molecular Biology along with the faculty members; which was duly recommended by the DBT-HRD Task force for further perusal. The proposal saw the light of the day due to constant support and optimism of the Vice Chancellor who invariably motivates his faculty for growth and progress.
Prof Ashok Aima said that it is a big achievement and with this, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) has added one more feather to its cap.
