JAMMU, Sept 6: A function was organized today by the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) to recognize the services rendered by Er Kiran Wattal (former Municipal Commissioner) as a member of the Building Committee (Central University Jammu).
In this regard, a citation of appreciation was extended to Wattal for his outstanding contribution in the development of infrastructure of Campus at Bagla, by the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Central University of Jammu, Professor Ashok Aima.
The citation notes that ‘Er Kiran Wattal is a dynamic person who has dedicated more than 36 years of his life to public service. It is through his sheer resilience and perseverance that he has been able to rise the professional ladder of success’. He retired as the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation and during his tenure, he brought in various initiatives to make public services more accessible to the common people of Jammu.
As the commissioner of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, the officer held various deliberations with various Mohalla Committees and interacted with the representatives of the people of Jammu City. Wattal’s endeavors resulted in the improvisation of various services of the JMC, ranging from Health to Sanitation and other civic amenities.
After his retirement from Government service, Wattal has continued to work for the socio-cultural and religious initiatives under the platforms-Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj, Global Solace, J&K Civil Society, Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra Welfare Society and Shri Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society.
