CSU demands compensation for flood affected members

JAMMU,  Aug 18: Civic Safaikaramchari Union (CSU) today demanded Governor NN Vohra to pay compensation to Safaikaramchari residing in Kot Bhalwal area, whose houses were badly damaged in the flood which struck the area few days back.
Addressing a press conference here, Rinku Gill, president, Civic Safaikaramchari Union, said that the flood caused in Kot Bhalwal area due to cloud burst in higher reaches of the area damaged houses of many Safaikaramcharis, as flood water entered into their houses.
“These safaikaramcharis are badly suffering due to damage caused to their houses and electronic gadgets but no body from the administration visited the area and took stock of their problems being faced by the poor people”, he added.
Rinku Gill appealed Governor NN Vohra to pass directions to Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Deputy Commissioner and other concerned higher officials to visit the area, asses the loss occurred due to flood and pay compensation to the affected people accordingly so that they may take up repair work of their houses.
Gill also urged the Governor to make new colonies for these safaikaramcharis, who are living near seasonal nallahs as every year during monsoon season rain water into their houses and damaged household articles.
