JAMMU, Nov 24: The Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) meeting on implementation of National Food Safety Act (NFSA) today remained inconclusive and will meet again on November 26 to discuss and finalize its recommendations.
Official sources said the CSC met under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and discussed in detail the implementation of the NFSA including total number of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families etc.
The CSC noted that 74 lakh people could benefit due to implementation of the NFSA in Jammu and Kashmir.
It also reviewed parameters to be undertaken for ensuring implementation of the NFSA that envisaged to give foodgrains to the public at much subsidized rates. The Act has already been implemented by various States.
The CSC would meet again on November 26 to finalize its recommendations and submit them to the Cabinet.
