BHADARWAH, Dec 19: To give boost to the rural talent by providing them a proper and bigger platform to showcase their skills in chilly winters, CRPF 33 Battalion’s Football tournament got underway, here today.
The tournament in which 8 football clubs of Bhadarwah town and its peripheral areas are participating was formally inaugurated by CO Rashtriya Rifles based at Bhadarwah along with CO 33 Battalion CRPF A Padma Kumar at Sports Stadium, GDC Bhaderwah, today.
Rajinder Singh and Tehsildar Bhadarwah Masood Ahmed were the guests of honour.
CRPF also distributed complete football kits among 144 players of 8 clubs participating in the tournament.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between GR Azad Club and Seri Bazaar Football Club. In the nail bitting competition both the team remained goal less till the last minute of the second half, but in the dying moments GR Azad Club converted the penalty kick into goal and won the match 1-0.
