RAMBAN, June 12: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed, when the bus he was traveling in met with and accident near Sherbibi area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsoo police station.
As per police sources, a jawan posted with 161 Battalion CRPF identified as Sher Babu, a resident of Bihar was killed, when the CRPF bus he was traveling in collided with mountain near Sherbibi area today morning.
The accident took place after the brakes of the bus, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar got failed and to save the lives of the jawans traveling in the bus, the driver hit the vehicle with mountain.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo, where after conducting autopsy, it was handed over to concerned battalion for sending the same to the legal heirs of the deceased for last rites.
Ramsoo police has taken cognizance in this regard.
