KATHUA, Oct 21: Kathua Police today arrested a notorious criminal/drug peddler who was involved in various criminal cases and lodged him in Central Jail Jammu.
Identified as Rohit Singh alias Chitta son of Raghubir Singh of Ward No. 7 Kathua, he was detained under PSA. Police said on the basis of dossier prepared by Kathua police against him, the District Magistrate Kathua issued detention warrant against the said criminal which was executed today and the detenue has been lodged in Central Jail Jammu.
He is involved in five criminal cases viz FIR No.168/2011 u/s 364/323/342/34/201 RPC, 397/2013 u/s 341/323/34 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act, 17/2014 u/s 341/323/34 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act, 315/2015 u/s 8/21/22/ NDPS Act and 318/2015 u/s 7/25 Arms of Police Station Kathua stands registered against him.
Police said with his detention, the peace loving people of the area will definitely have a sigh of relief.
