Crime Branch registers FIR against online fraudsters

JAMMU, Jan 23: Crime Branch Jammu has registered case against the gang of unidentified cheats for robbing innocent people online.
The FIR has been registered on the complaint of one Yash Pal of Noushera,   presently putting up at Simbal Camp    Jammu, who alleged that he received a phone call from a cell number wherein the caller declared him as the lucky draw winner of BSNL. The caller informed that Yash Pal had won an award of Rs 15.8 crores and further asked the complainant to deposit Rs 15,000/- as custom charges in A/c No. 32507215776 in the name of one Suman Kumar.
The caller again informed the complainant that he has to deposit some more money as taxes and transaction fee etc and in this way the complainant deposited Rs 1, 04,000/- in different accounts provided by caller who thus cheated him of his hard earned money.
During the course of enquiry, it was found that some unknown callers provided different accounts from Madhya Pradesh to the complainant.
Accordingly, case FIR under Section 420, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC was registered in Crime Branch, Jammu and further investigation has been taken up.
According to SSP Crime Branch, Jammu Mubassir Latifi, number of similar complaints have been received in Crime Branch from different parts of Jammu province where innocent people have been duped of their money by misleading and impersonation. He appealed to the people not to fall prey to the machinations of these tricksters who befool the innocent and gullible and rob them of their hard earned money.
