JAMMU, Apr 26: Crime Branch today produced challan against a police official involved in duping the innocent youth of district Kishtwar on pretext of providing Government jobs in various departments.
An official spokesman said that, a complaint addressed to Financial Commissioner Home, was received at Crime Branch alleging therein that SG Ct No 54/GRP of MT Section GRP Jammu Kuldeep Kumar, son of Chuni Lal of Nangal, Kathua had committed fraud with the complainants namely Davinder Singh, son of Bhopinder Singh of Chak Jaffer and others with a promise to get them adjusted as drivers either in Police Department or Government Hospitals on the payment of Rs 1 lakh each.
On his inducement, the complainant and others paid money to the alleged accused alongwith certificates and driving licences, but neither they were adjusted somewhere nor the money was returned to them, he said, adding that the matter was also got verified by GRP authorities Jammu and it was established that the complainants had paid Rs 4.10 lakh to Kuldeep Kumar for managing jobs in different departments, but none of them got engaged and as such were cheated by him.
During the course of investigation, statements of prosecution witnesses were recorded and after fulfillment of other legal formalities, a case under FIR No 9/2011 under Section 420 RPC was registered against the accused.
The accused has been challaned in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, for judicial determination. The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed on July 25, 2013.
