Sarpanch arrested for issuing threat posters

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: A Sarpanch from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district was today arrested after being found involved in circulating posters threatening fellow Panchs and Sarpanchs and asking them to resign.
Sources said, Sarpanch Gulam Nabi Mailk of Tikker Kupwara was found allegedly involved in writing and circulating fake posters of militant outfit Jamiatul Mujahideen. In the posters he had issued threats to Panchs and Sarpanchs asking them to resign or face dire consequences.
Police had registered a case (FIR No 26/2013 stands already registered in this case under Section 506 RPC of unlawful activities act) for threatening Panchs and Sarpanchs.
Sources said that police had suspected his involved and had sent his hand writing for forensic examination. The hand writing of posters matched with that of Sarpanch and he was arrested.
