Crash course on new criminal laws concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: A five-day-long crash course on the new criminal laws-2023, which began at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here on February 22, 2024, concluded today.
A statement said that 50 police personnel from the rank of Constable to Inspector, participated in the course, organised on the direction of J&K Police Headquarters, with an objective of familiarising the police personnel with the key provisions of the new Criminal laws-2023, ensuring their implementation on the ground.
In his valedictory address, Chief Guest on the occasion, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor), SKPA, emphasized the importance of gaining knowledge of all three criminal laws, for their proper use on the ground post implementation.
Eminent speakers, including Amit Kumar Seghal, senior PO, SKPA, Sukhvir Singh, DySP, AD (Admin) SKPA, Sheikh Shakeel, advocate, J&K High Court, and Supriya Chouhan, Advocate, delivered impressive lectures to the trainees, focussing on understanding the new criminal laws to address contemporary challenges in law enforcement.
Rakesh Sambyal, Chief Prosecuting Officer, assisted by SI Subash Chander, SKPA Udhampur, coordinated the course.
