CPO, ABP hold meet

JAMMU, Oct 28: A joint meeting of the office bearers of Consumers Protection Organization (CPO) and the Akhil Bhartiya Panchayat (ABP) (All India Consumer Forum) was held under the chairmanship of Des Raj Danish, today.
The main agenda of the meeting was to bring into the notice of higher authorities of CAPD and Weights and Measures for implementing the decision in the meeting of Price Consultation Committee held in the month of September under the chairmanship of the Joint Director CAPD regarding fixation of rates of eatables commodities.
It was pointed out by Kapil Dev Sharma, Sangathan Mantri of Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat that the Price Control Committee had fixed the price of phenian Rs 150/- per kg and Katlamas Rs 160 per kg for the retailer who manufacture the said commodities in their own work shop and shall be bound to display the rate lists of such items in front of their retail outlets, whereas the prices of Phenian and Katlamas was fixed Rs 100/-per kg for those retailers who do not manufacture such products in their own workshops but directly procure the same from outside Jammu city.
The members present in the meeting expressed deep anguish over offences and unanimously resolved that this should be brought to the notice of concerned authorities and civil administration to initiate stern action against offenders.
The meeting also discussed that people should be vigilant at the time of shopping and should take bill/cash memo of each commodity from shopkeepers.
