JAMMU, Jan 28: Demanding their regularization, a protest demonstration was held in the premises of Director School Education, Jammu, by the Contingent Paid Workers, land donors and cook-cum-helper employees of School Education Department, Jammu province.
The protest demonstration was organized under the banner of All J&K Contingent Paid Workers/Land Donors/Cook-cum-Helpers Employees Forum, Jammu Province, affiliated with Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum.
Led by Ganesh Khajuria, Chairman JKTF, a number of CP Workers, land donors and cook-cum-helpers of School Education Department participated in the demonstration. Shouting slogans, the protesting employees criticized the callous attitude of the School Education authorities for paying no heed to the their just and genuine demands, which include their regularization as class IV employees in the light of SRO -308 as their counterparts in the Kashmir Province have already been regularized by the Director School Education Kashmir.
While addressing the gathering, Ganesh Khajuria lambasted the authorities for deliberately delaying in addressing the issue of these employees which is a clear cut violation of Minimum Wages Act vide No. Edu-1/227/2009 dated 28-08-2011.
He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu to take the personal initiative to provide the justice to these aggrieved and poor employees of School Education Department who are serving in the schools for the last three decades on a very meager honorarium of Rs 20 to 100 annually out of the State Contingency Fund.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by Mohd Akbar Khan, Surat Singh Toofani, Mohd Shafi Rather, Darshan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Rajinder Gupta, Jamayat Agah, Tariq Ahmed, Javid Wangroo, Ravi Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Kamlesh Kumari, Rekha Devi, Seema Devi, Thoker Bashir, Kuldeep Verma, Sham Badyal, Manpreet Singh and others.
