Court grants 5 day remand of AEE PDD

JAMMU, Feb 1: Vigilance Organization Jammu today presented Sanjay Gupta, AEE Electric Maintenance Division Udhampur before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu with the application of police remand.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjeev Gupta, after going through the CD file, observed that the accused was arrested on 31st of January and the investigation is in initial stage and there is a reasonable ground for remanding the accused to custody of Vigilance Organisation. “The application for remand moved by the Investigation Officer Inspector Kamal Sangra is allowed and the accused admitted to the custody of Vigilance Organization for a period of five days with the direction to get the accused medically examined after every 48 hours,” the court said.
It is worthwhile to mention here that AEE Electric Maintenance Division Udhampur was caught red-handed on a complaint filed by a contractor Sanjay Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal of Majalta alleging that accused AEE demanded Rs 20000 for shutting down the power supply enabling him to complete the work of felling of standing Eucalyptus trees at Dhar road whose contract was allotted to the him by the SFC. VOJ under the supervision of SSP VOJ (UDR) Shiv Kumar Chouhan laid the trap and caught red-handed accused while accepting bribe money.
