Court grants 5-day police custody of ex-MD SICOP

JAMMU, July 2: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Yash Pal Bourney today granted five days police custody of Bhupinder Singh Dua, former MD SICOP, who has been arrested in connection with disproportionate assets case.
DySP Davinder Singh of Anti-Corruption Bureau produced the accused before the court and sought police remand, which was granted by the court.
According to the ACB, Bhupinder Singh Dua, former MD SICOP has amassed huge wealth and raised a number of assets in his own name as well as in the name of his family members/close relatives. He had acquired these assets with the ‘ill-gotten money’, earned through corrupt practices during his stint in SICOP in various capacities.
