JAMMU, July 2: Jhajjar Kotli and Domana Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 203 cattle and arresting 14 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and intercepted 10 trucks bearing registration numbers
JK05-7226, JK02AR-9839, JK02BU-5277, JK02AL-1569, JK18A-6432, JK02AG-8031, JK02AD-5211, JK02AT-3795, JK13A-8651 and JK02BT-6359.
During checking, police team rescued 160 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested 10 persons, who were identified as Farooq Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Barth, Baramulla, Mohammad Ashraf, son of Talib Hussain of Talwara District Reasi at present Janipur Colony, Rafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Farooq of Ragoora, Jammu, Mohammad Khaliq, son of Hashim Din of Jakheni at present Kullian RS Pura, Aanyat Ali, son of Mohammad Shafi of Sidhra, Hanif, son of Musa of Camp Gole Gujral, Mukhtiar Hussain, son of Nazir Hussain of Behrote Thana Mandi District Rajouri, Farooq, son of Shah Mohammad of Baba Farid Nagar Tehsil Bari Brahmana District Samba, Gowhar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed of Churat Tehsil Devsar District Kulgam and Rahil, son of Mohammad Fazal Shah of Churat Tehsil Devsar District Kulgam.
Cases under FIR Numbers 113, 114, 115, 116 and 117 under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 420, 467, 468 and 471 IPC were registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and the investigation started.
The arrest was made by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
However, a team from Pouni Chak Police Post led by SI Rohit Bhagat and SI Kulvinder Singh under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Suram Singh laid a naka and intercepted three trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AW-7669, JK08-4421 and JK02AJ-6275.
During checking, police team rescued 43 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Mohammad Ashfaq, son of Mohammad Bashir of Khandigala Rajouri, Ishtiaq Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed Khandigala Rajouri, Gojar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Talab Tillo Camp and Masoom Ali, son of Qudari Hussain of Kheri Sorore.
A case under FIR Number 167/20 under section 188 IPC, 3 PCA and 2/3 Prevention of Property Damage Act has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
