JAMMU, Mar 25: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Kartar Singh rejected the bail application of Assistant Superintendent namely Sushant Sharma, son of Ravi Nath Sharma of Adarsh Vihar, Sainik Colony, who was involved in 12th class paper scam. However, the court granted bail to Principal and four students.
After hearing battery of lawyers appearing for the petitioners, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “so far as petitioner Sushant Sharma is concerned, he is a teacher by profession and he was the person who contacted the students and supplied them question papers and got the same written one day prior to the fixed date of examination”, adding “he is a main culprit in this case and does not deserve any concession of bail”.
“As far as other petitioners except Sushant Sharma are concerned, they have made out a prima facie case for their release on bail. Hence petitioner Babu Ram Sharma is admitted to bail on his furnishing bail and personal bonds to the tune of Rs 50000 each, whereas bail granted in anticipation of arrest of petitioners namely Jagmohan Singh, Baltej Choudhary and Vivek Singh is made absolute with the direction that they shall attend the investigation as and when required”, the court said, adding “petitioner Ankush Choudhary is admitted to bail on his furnishing bail and personal bonds to the tune of Rs 50000 each”.
