Court denies bail to 2 fraudsters

JAMMU, Feb 25: Sub-Judge Jammu Pawan Kumar Sharma today rejected the bail applications of Sageer Nizam and Amardeep Singh, who had duped people on the pretext of managing admission.
According to the Crime Branch, a written complaint was lodged by one Tanveer Ahmed Wani, son of Shamas-Ud-Din of Banihal alleging that Sageer Nizam, who claimed to be an employee of BOPEE posted at Jammu, assured the complainant to get him permission for opening Polytechnic College.
Thereafter, he asked for Rs 6.50 lakh which was deposited in the Bank account of the accused. Another amount of Rs 10 lakh was given in cash to the accused. One Javed Iqbal Lone who claimed to be the representative of PDD, Dr Heena from Medical Department and another person who claimed to be representative of BOPEE visited the site at Banihal but permission could not be granted and ultimately Sageer Nizam assured the complainant that he will return Rs 40 lakh and also gave him two cheques of Rs 25 lakh but the same could not be encashed due to zero balance.
On the complaint, Crime Branch started investigation and arrested Sageer Nizam and Amardeep Singh.
After hearing Senior PO Puja Nijhon for the State, Sub-Judge Jammu observed, “three more accused are yet to be arrested and huge amount is involved in the case and only a part of money has been recovered”. Accordingly, court denied bail to the accused.
