JAMMU, Feb 18: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi Kamlesh Pandit has rejected the bail application of Prem Singh, who was allegedly involved in gang rape case.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the allegations against the accused persons are very serious and there is every apprehension that in case of bail, the accused person would involve in tampering with the prosecution evidence as the accused/applicant and the complainant are fighting with each other by way of cross/counter cases”.
“It is not out of place to refer Section 497-C CrPC which bars bail in such offences as the accused person is charged with unless court is of the opinion that the accusations against the accused are not prima facie true”, the Judge said while rejecting the bail application.
