Drug peddler, bootlegger, bovines smuggler arrested

RAMBAN, Feb 18: Police arrested a drug peddler, bootlegger and bovines’ smuggler.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chanderkote Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 4 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Mool Raj, son of Lal Chand of Bajarni Bhagwa District Doda.
A case under relevant section has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Ramsoo Police Station apprehended a bootlegger along with 14 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Pardeep Nail, son of Sahu Dev Nail of Orissa.
However, a team from Chanderkote Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14-3771.
During checking, police team rescued 17 bovines from the vehicle and arrested the truck driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Latif, son of Ali Mohammad of Chenani, District Udhampur.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Chanderkote and Ramsoo Police Stations and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chanderkote Inspector Nazir Ahmed and SHO Ramsoo Inspector Javaid Iqbal made the arrest under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
