JAMMU, Oct 14: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, M K Sharma today rejected the bail application of two medical narco-smugglers namely Laba Ram and Raj Kumar, who were facing trial in NDPS case.
These narco-smugglers were arrested on June 12, 2012 after 7000 intoxicant capsules and 37 bottles of intoxicant syrup were recovered from their possession.
After hearing both the sides, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, M K Sharma observed, “the accused were carrying these drugs without any lawful authority and for the purpose of illegal sale”, adding “there is rigor of Section 37 NDPS Act for grant of bail. Moreover, in view of the evidence on record, it is difficult to say that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the accused are not guilty of the offences of which they are charged”.
With these observations, court dismissed the bail applications.
