JAMMU, Dec 28: A couple injured today in an accidental fire at their temporary residence at Preet Nagar, Digiana, in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a woman identified as Shanni Devi (26) wife of Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Bihar, at present residing in Preet Nagar, Digiana, was cooking food at his temporary residence when the saree she was wearing suddenly caught fire from the stove.
Hearing the cries of the lady, his husband namely Neeraj Kumar son of Kamlesh came for help but till then the woman had suffered about 60% burn injuries. The husband also received minor burn injuries in the mishap.
Both husband and wife were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment. The concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
