RAJOURI, Oct 9: A Councilor of Municipal Committee Rajouri escaped murderous attack on his life when he had gone to settle dispute between two parties.
Sources said that the attack was carried out on the Councilor from Ward No 09 Rajouri by some anti-social elements. Giving details Rameez Khan, a close aide of Councilor said that there was a dispute in Naban Mohallah Rajouri where one person had thrashed a lady and also attacked another person of the locality over a dispute. The locals of the area called Sanjay Sharma, the Councilor for the mediation and he along with the locals when moved to the house of the said person , who is known for his anti-social acts, attacked the Councilor with brick which struck on his face.
The bleeding Councilor was immediately rushed to the GMC Rajouri. The councilor was admitted in the hospital and is under treatment while the other injured persons are also undergoing treatment in hospital. The police registered a case FIR No. 536/ 2020 and started investigation. The accused was evading his arrest.
