SRINAGAR, Oct 11:
The Legislative Council was today adjourned sine-die by Chairman Amrit Malhotra.
Mr Malhotra announced that the House has been adjourned sine-die today.
The Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine-die by speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone yesterday.
Giving details of the business conducted in the House, the Chairman said 271 questions of public interest were taken up against 283 received from the members.
He said five short notice questions were taken up, one notice for discussion was also taken up.
Three and half an hour discussions out of nine and seven private members resolution were taken up out of 12 received.
Similarly, three papers were laid on the table, one notice was taken for discussion 53 besides 18 calling attentions out of 21 were taken up during this period.
Three Government Bills were passed and out of six private members Bills received five were taken up, one introduced and one passed, he added.
The Chairman thanked all the legislators, print and electronic media, security, Council Secretariat and other related departments for their cooperation and conduct of smooth autumn session. (UNI)
