JAMMU, Apr 29: In a meeting held today with residents of Ward No 42, at Nanak Nagar, concerned Corporator, Vijay Choudhary took stock of the problems being faced by the residents.
During the meeting, the Corporator was apprised of the need to replace or repair faulty and broken street lights to which the Corporator assured to replaced the same soon. To maintain cleanliness in the area, the Corporator asked all the participants not to left heaps of construction material on road after getting their construction work done.
Vijay Choudhary told the participants that till date she has not received any funding or additional manpower from the Corporation but with the limited staff she is trying to get every work done timely. She told the participants to come directly to her in case of any concern.
Choudhary Manmohan Singh (former Mayor), who was also present in the meeting, asked the inhabitants not to park their vehicles on roads, as in case of emergency i.e. fire or medical emergency, the vehicles act as road block for fire tenders or ambulances in reaching their destinations timely.
The former Mayor also asked all the shopkeepers to keep their wares inside their shops instead of showcasing the same outside their shops. He also advised them to keep a dustbin outside their shop and throw waste in that instead of throwing the same on streets and in drains.
