Corporal punishment leaves student’s arm fractured

Srinagar, June 3: A 7th standard student has been beaten by the Principal of a school in South Kashmir’s Pulwama, leaving him with a fractured arm.
As per details, a student who has been identified as Muneef Nisar was beaten with a plastic pipe by the Principal after he could not produce the school identity card.
“He was asked to produce the identity card which he had forgotten and on hearing that the concerned teacher hit him with the pipe, causing severe injury to him,” Nisar Ahmad, parent of the student said.
The father of the student said that the doctors at Rajpora hospital have said that there is a fracture in his arm.
Another such case has been reported from a Private School at Elahi Bagh in Srinagar where the concerned parents have sought immediate action in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Parents Association of Private Schools, Kashmir has urged the Chief Education Officer to ensure necessary action in the wake of such incidents.
