Coriander, turmeric fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, May 3:  Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 200 each per quintal in the national capital today on sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.
Coriander and turmeric prices drifted lower by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 6,400-12,500 and Rs 6,800-9,800 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 120-170, black pepper (per kg) 530-740, betel-nut (kg) 290-310, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 670-690 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 740-1,050.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,125-1,225, cardamom (colour robin) 930–950, cardamom bold 960-980, cardamom extra (bold) 1,090-1,110 and cloves 560-660. (PTI)
