Copper rise 0.37 pc as demand picks up, global cues

NEW DELHI, Feb 6: Copper prices rose by 0.37 per cent to Rs 443.05 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions after demand picked up from consuming industries in the spot market amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February rose by Rs 1.65, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 443.05 per kg in business turnover of 1,756 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 1.50, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 448.70 per kg in 39 lots.
Market analysts besides rising demand from consuming industries, a firming trend in metal at the London Metal Exchange, influenced copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper rose 0.2 per cent to 7,052.50 dollar a metric tonne at the LME. (AGENCIES
